Balabolka is a Russian word that can be translated as ‘chatterer’ and also the name was given to this application that can read your texts aloud.
This tool can read a large list of formats: DOC, RTF, PDF, ODT, FB2, and HTML. Furthermore, it can also save the speech as WAV, OGG, MP3, or OGG.
You can change the voice speed and tone, as well as the voice itself.
This software includes two standard speakers (male and female), although you can use any other voices stored in your computer.
If you don’t want to read a long text and you prefer to listen to it, Balabolka can be useful.
We have not encountered any problems during our testing, as Balabolka did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. It leaves a small footprint on system performance, using low CPU and RAM. Taking into account its generous set of features and configuration parameters, Balabolka should meet the requirements of most users looking for a reliable and multi-talented text-to-speech software application.
